Meh. Sometimes movies are great as sequels, and sometimes they are even better being left alone. Though it had a fairly sturdy plot, it was no way near as thrilling as the original. I did enjoy the fact that they kept most of the same cast, and I also did not hate the additions of Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls). The problem for me was that the entire movie seemed too cheesy, Daniel Radcliffe’s character resembled pedophile way too much, and Mark Ruffalo just seemed way too whiney. The dark and cool original story was essentially nowhere to be found, and the ending was not at all the “didn’t see it coming” factor that I loved so much about the first. |
